Mr. Porritt was born in Pontiac, Michigan.  He graduated from Michigan State University (B.A., with honors, 1976) Evans Scholar and Thomas M. Cooley Law School (J.D., 1981)

He was admitted to the bar in 1982.  Mr. Porritt is a member of The State Bars of Michigan, Ohio and Texas.  He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio and the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.

Mr. Porritt's concentration has been in transportation, product liability, auto liability, cargo claims, dram shop, premises liability, general liability and insurance coverage litigation.

He is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Special Mediator Oakland County, State Bar of Michigan, State Bar of Texas, The Transportation Lawyer's Association and Toledo Bar Association, The Defense Research Institute, Trucking Section.
